About the Nursery

The nursery is based in the renovated 1855 Building, the original Victorian Station Building opposite Eureka!. This extensive space offers an ideal base for learning, with plenty of natural light and an outdoor play area on the Eureka! Park.

Playing outside at Eureka!The nursery operates four units, each providing tailor-made facilities for each crucial stage of development, plus Eureka! Den, a holiday club for 5-11 year olds providing for essential childcare during the school holidays. Please take a tour of the nursery's facilities for more information about each section.

Inside the nursery, your child will be encouraged to develop socially at their natural pace, build confidence and character, develop creative potential, good manners and communication skills.

The nursery's friendly and enthusiastic team is made up of qualified and experienced staff. We pride ourselves on our commitment to staff development and our staff regularly attend external training, professional development courses and in-house training.

Links wih Eureka!

The Eureka! NurseryAs well as benefiting from Eureka!'s expertise in developing and delivering innovative informal learning programmes, all units visit Eureka! in small groups at least once a week. Activities include time inside the museum’s two stunning new under 5s galleries as well as the museum’s other interactive galleries that include a real-life Town Square complete with a Post Office, Marks & Spencer’s, Bank and Garage.

The museum classroom and theatre are also accessible to the children, and they can take part in craft activities, workshops and outdoor games on the Eureka! Park.

So you and your family can enjoy together the informal learning environment of Eureka! each child registered with the nursery will also receive a Eureka! Complimentary Admissions Card. This will allow your child unlimited FREE access to Eureka! during and after their time at the Eureka! Nursery - right up until they reach 11 years of age.

You will also receive six free accompanying adult tickets per year whilst your child attends the nursery, plus an extra three adult tickets for each additional sibling attending the nursery.

A tour of Eureka! The National Children's Museum is available alongside your tour of the nursery, so if you haven't visited before, please request this when you call.
